Strive to make exercise the norm in your household. It won’t just benefit you….
Children are watching our every move and mimicking our habits. If you look at your daily habits today, would you be proud of the path you've led for your children?
If you answered yes........ That's GREAT! Keep doing what you are already doing.
If you answered no......... That means you recognized the problem and can change your habits today for a better tomorrow!
Want to know where I fall?
While I grew up in an athletic household, we didn’t exercise outside of our sports practices. I remember thinking it was weird when I heard that other people were exercising REGULARLY.
However, now that I’m an adult, I realize that they had it right and I had it wrong. And guess what, when I started out a while ago, I realized it’s a harder transition to make the change. But that doesn't discourage me.
When I look at my future, I see my life with my husband and kids. I want us to be active and healthy. I have made a commitment to myself and my future (for myself and my family) to make exercise a norm in my household. Exercise equipment isn't just a piece of furniture that doesn't get used now. We have workout equipment in different parts of the house (because that's where we actually use it). And we make time to do our workouts and also enjoy our leisure time.
Knowing what I know now, I understand that consistent exercise is important, and you don't have to get frustrated if your daily life interrupts your workout schedule. Accept that it is part of the process and get back on track. Also remember that it's ok to do some of a workout even if I don't have time to do a whole long workout.
Start the change in your house today and you won’t regret it.
